Über die Öl & Gas – Exploration & Produktion-Branche

Reine E&P-Unternehmen wie ConocoPhillips, EOG Resources, Devon Energy, Pioneer Natural Resources (von ExxonMobil übernommen), Expand Energy (Chesapeake/Southwestern-Fusion), Diamondback Energy und Continental Resources fokussieren sich auf das Upstream-Geschäft – die Erschließung und Produktion von Öl und Gas. Im Gegensatz zu integrierten Konzernen wie ExxonMobil oder Shell haben sie keine Raffinerien, kein Tankstellennetz und keine Petrochemie als Puffer gegen Ölpreisschwankungen.

Konsensschätzungen sehen Peak Oil zwischen 2028 und 2035 – das macht E&Ps zu Cashflow-Maschinen mit endlichem Geschäftsmodell. Investitionsdisziplin und Aktionärsausschüttung statt aggressivem Volumenwachstum sind heute die dominante Strategie.
